Marc Raye

Marc A. Raye has been in the hair industry for 28 years and has enjoyed every moment of it. Marc has cut in numerous barber shops such as Flashlight Barber Shop and Fresh Palace. Marc has always loved giving back and working with the youth.

Marc stepped away from the barber shop but remained in the industry. He started teaching Special Education and coaching basketball. Marc taught and coached for 25 years. He began his coaching journey at Walkertown Middle school in 1998. Marc coached at Walkertown for four years and coached his team in two city championships. He later became an assistant head coach at North Forsyth coaching girls ‘varsity for three years. After coaching at North Forsyth, he assisted Coach Andy Muse on varsity at Mt. Tabor High School. Coach Raye helped coach the Mt. Tabor boys’ varsity to their first 4-A State Basketball Championship in 2009 under the coaching direction of head Coach Andy Muse. He has also assisted in winning 5 Frank Spencer Championships as an assistant coach, three with Mt. Tabor and two with East Forsyth High School. Coach Raye enjoyed coaching with Andy Muse and has learned a tremendous amount of basketball concepts under his leadership. Marc also coached at East Forsyth High as the Associate Head Coach of the Boys’ Varsity Basketball team. He has had the opportunity to learn college level coaching from Head Coach Mike Muse. Coach Raye has been at East Forsyth High School they have won a conference championship and two Frank Spencer Championships back to back.

Becoming a Head Varsity Basketball Coach was a dream of his and he became the Head Varsity basketball coach at Albemarle High School in 2015. Marc was the FIRST African American head basketball coach at Albemale High School and he was a successful coach at Albemarle and in his second year coaching he reached the Sweet 16 NC State playoffs and upset the number two seated team in the state playoffs.

Marc began thinking of leaving the education field and the more he thought about it, the more he began to focus more on his trade of styling and grooming hair. Marc became very focused about the hair industry and the thought of a life long dream became a reality and Marc became the owner and operator of Dynasty Barber Studio. Marc’s thoughts of Dynasty Barber Studio is designed to give its employees a second chance to reinvent themselves and finding the right place to work while nurturing and cultivating their craft while giving its clients the best environment to be pampered and feel good after being served.

Marc is still big on education and offers barbering educational classes on Mondays to his team at the barber studio. Marc is currently working on getting his Barbering Instructors licenses. Marc still wants to teach but now he wants to teach things about the hair industry of barbering.

Marc has a beautiful family and has been married for 20 years and have three kids and three grand daughters. Ontario Daniels, Marc Raye Jr (MJ), and Marje , he also has a Shi Tzu named MaJiq “Alley Hoop” Raye. Marc also have three beautiful granddaughters and they are Kaylyn, Londyn, and Sevyn.

Marc is a member of the BEST fraternity in the world Omega Psi Phi. He is a member of the Psi Phi Chapter located in Winston Salem North Carolina. Marc is currently writing his book called “Coaching Your Reflection”. This book is inspired by his daughter Marje and will be written on his life’s journey. Marc is also working on one of his biggest dreams……TO BE CONTINUED….
