This page is dedicated Stephen Antoine Patterson. He was a great man with a given heart and had a great sense of humor. He introduced Marc to barbering in 1992. Stephen was a great barber with a great skill set. Stephen was a man of many talents. Stephen was a great athlete that played football at Carver High School.
Stephen attended Triad Barber School and did very well. He was labeled as a “Premier” barber and had a great following during barber school. He asked Marc to come to barber school with him and organized the meeting with the owner (Mrs. Mary Kyles). They were filled and some kind of way Stephen convinced Mrs. Kyles to allow Marc to attend. To this day Marc does not know how Stephen managed that to happen but he made it happen. While attending Triad Barber School, Stephen, Marc, and Mr. Agers formed a barbering group called C.O.P (Cuts Of Perfection). They came up with a plan to open up a barber studio and Stephen was the “Brain Child” of the business plan. This group of barbers were serious about their plan. They went to school dressed up with a shirt and tie everyday, including on Saturdays. They had such an influence on the other students, they started dressing up in a shirt and tie as well. Stephen was a born leader and lead very well.
The plan was to always open up a barber studio but God saw fit for Stephen and Mr. Agers to be called home before that dream came to fruition. As time passed Marc became licensed and worked in Flashlight Barber Shop and Fresh Palace Barber Shop. Marc stop cutting and began teaching but always held on to the dream that the C.O.P.’s had.
Dynasty Barber Studio is a Dream come TRUE!! Before Marc retired from teaching, he said he was going to take a leap of faith and just trust God to make it all come to pass. The name speaks for itself….Dynasty Barber Studio!! Stephen, Mr. Agers, and Marc always said they were going to create a Dynasty in the hair industry. It is literally taking place! Marc has dove so far into the industry he had even met with one of his classmates, LaDonna Lineberger and created a facial scrub called “BLAQ” which was Stephen’s nick name.
Marc can’t thank Stephen enough but thinks about him every day when he walks in Dynasty Barber Studio.
